URGENT: Fund Honey’s Critical Medical Care

The past 72 hours have been some of the most critical and exhausting of Honey’s life. Her C‑section, necessitated by a breech puppy who could not be delivered safely was only the beginning of her ordeal. Shortly afterward, Honey suffered a major hemorrhage that left her dangerously weak and required two emergency blood transfusions, intensive IV fluids, and three urgent vet visits between Tuesday and Wednesday. She was vomiting, refusing food, and declining rapidly.

Metro called her foster family in hopes that Honey might eat for someone she trusts. The moment she smelled her foster, Honey lifted her head and became completely fixated on the scent of her puppies on her foster mom’s shirt and that spark of recognition was the first hopeful sign in days.

Then, in a moment everyone desperately needed, Honey ate some boiled chicken… and kept it down. After an hour with no vomiting, Metro cautiously approved her foster to take her home.

Honey is now back with her foster family, who are working tirelessly to support her recovery. She is being fed nine cups of fresh, homemade food each day, supplemented with puppy formula and nutrient packed food to help her rebuild strength after her C‑section, hemorrhage, and days of critical care.

Her newborn puppies are thriving, thanks to supplemental formula feedings that ensure they get enough nutrition while giving Honey the rest she needs. Even so, she refuses to leave them! Honey is an extraordinary mom, devoted and gentle, even in her weakest moments.

Because she is still fragile, her foster family carries her outside for potty breaks several times a day. Once outside, she walks slowly and is beginning to show small signs of returning to herself.

💔 Her emergency medical bills have already climbed past $6,000 and they are still growing.

Blood transfusions, emergency diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, intensive monitoring, and multiple vet visits have stretched GRRAND’s resources to the limit.
