Planned Giving
Leaving a legacy gift to GRRAND is a meaningful way to ensure that your compassion for dogs continues for generations to come. Planned gifts provide long-term support for our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Doodles, Great Pyrenees, and other at-risk dogs in need of loving homes.
Below are several ways you can include GRRAND in your legacy plans:
Bequests
You can name GRRAND in your will or trust by designating a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other distributions. A bequest is a simple and powerful way to support GRRAND’s mission without affecting your current financial situation.
Beneficiary Designations
Consider naming GRRAND as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance policy, bank account, or investment account. This is often as easy as completing a form and does not require revising your will.
Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs)
A CRT allows you to receive income for life or a term of years while ultimately supporting GRRAND. These trusts are typically established through an attorney and may require a minimum contribution, often $100,000 or more. CRTs can offer tax benefits while allowing you to support our work in the future.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
You can recommend GRRAND as a grant recipient from your donor-advised fund. You may also name GRRAND as a successor beneficiary of your DAF to continue your legacy of giving.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
If you are 70½ or older, you may be eligible to donate directly from your IRA to GRRAND through a Qualified Charitable Distribution. QCDs can satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) and may reduce your taxable income.
Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated securities can be a tax-efficient way to support GRRAND. You may receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value and avoid capital gains taxes.
Pet Legacy
GRRAND is committed to caring for every dog we place, for life. Should you pass away before your GRRAND adopted dog, we ask that you include instructions in your will to notify GRRAND so we can rehome your dog with a loving, approved adoptive family. While rehoming is already part of our commitment, a legacy contribution can help offset the costs of transport, veterinary care, and fostering during the transition, allowing us to provide your dog with the same loving care they received when first adopted.
