Murphy came into my life in the summer of 2018, just as I was retiring. He was 9 years old and blind, and when I saw his picture on GRRAND’s website and read his story, I had to bring him home. He was the sweetest boy and loved everyone. Everyone loved him back, and nothing gave him more joy than being petted by anyone at all. I sold my big home and moved to a new neighborhood, where he loved the smaller house. Murphy soon made new friends on our walks, including the mail lady, who would stop her truck and get out to pet him. We had 3 1/2 years together before advanced dementia coupled with his blindness made his life so confusing and unhappy that all who loved him felt it would be kindest to let him go. He left us in December 2021.
He was my good, sweet boy and I will always love him.
