Tyg is a beautiful, big 7.5‑year‑old Anatolian Shepherd mix with a heart as loyal as they come. He first arrived at GRRAND as a puppy in 2019 and was quickly adopted. But in June 2023, through absolutely no fault of his own, Tyg was returned and he has now spent the last three years living at the GRRAND kennel.

Despite everything, Tyg has remained one of our most beloved kennel favorites. He adores running the fence line, greeting volunteers, and announcing himself to every dog who strolls by. His spirit is joyful, goofy, and full of life.

But like many of us, Tyg doesn’t always realize his body isn’t as young as it used to be. Recently, he suffered a torn ACL, and he now needs surgery to stay mobile, pain‑free, and able to enjoy the simple joys he loves stretching out in the sunshine, trotting alongside volunteers, and showing off his big, beautiful smile.

We expect the cost of Tyg’s surgery and recovery to be between $4,000 and $7,000, and we’re asking our community to help us give him the care he needs.
