Spencer County Dogs Update
This week has been challenging for our rescue, especially with several urgent medical cases.
- Puppies: All the 5-week-old puppies have returned to their foster home after being treated for Parvo. Their medical care resulted in over $10,000 in vet bills.
- Jefferson: He was hospitalized but is showing resilience thanks to the amazing team at Metro Animal Hospital.
- Campbell: She is pregnant with at least three puppies and is expected to give birth in 2-3 weeks. After her pups are safely delivered, she will undergo treatment for Ehrlichia. Campbell is about 5 years old and otherwise in good health.
- Larue: While we are relieved that Larue is not pregnant, she has a large spleen tumor the size of a baseball that requires immediate surgery. This is a critical situation, and her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow to prevent any complications.
On a positive note, many of the dogs are starting to settle in, and we’re seeing promising improvements in their behavior.
