Buddy is a 9-10ish year old, 90ish lb, senior male Golden Retriever who has just a very sad story and desperately is looking for his “forever family” who will spoil and love him, and give him all of the TLC he so deserves! His rescuer was a delivery driver and they told GRRAND: “I found him while I was doing a delivery job. He was laying in the road and I called out “hey buddy” and he jumped into my car. I took him home and made a fb post looking for the owner. Later I found the owner & found out that his name was Buddy so that’s why he immediately came to me! The previous owner is an older gentleman that can’t take care of him anymore and he was letting him roam the streets for years. That made me sad and I asked if I could take him and he said yes. He was very matted and didn’t walk very well because it hurt and was all tangled up, and he walks so much better now! He’s seriously so much better than when we got him, though. He used to not be able to jump on the couch and now he can. I’m not sure if that’s because of how bad his coat was, a healthier diet, maybe his bones feel better from being inside after years of sleeping on the road or a mixture of all of it. Anyway that’s the story with Buddy!! We adore him, but we can’t keep him because our current dogs are just too much for him. I just want him to be happy and as healthy as can be for the time he has left and knew we could not take him to a shelter.”
GRRAND has taken Buddy to the vet, and we have found he has infected sty on his eyelids bilaterally and he has uveitis (inflammation of the uveal tract in the eye). He has two impacted and infected upper molars bilaterally that will be extracted this Friday, as his foster said he was having difficulty chewing so hopefully this will help, and he was given a bath because he was covered in fleas.
