Update on Joe, our resilient 95 lb lapdog Golden
On May 2, Joe is undergoing surgery to amputate his injured leg due to a fracture caused by buckshot. After careful consideration, the surgeon determined that his leg wouldn’t regain full function with surgery, and there’s a risk of bone infection.
Despite the challenges, Joe is already adapting remarkably well to getting around on three legs. He’s a big-hearted, loving guy who can manage a few steps on three legs. While shallow steps are easier for him, he’s learning to tackle regular steps too, especially with a little assistance.
We believe Joe is eminently adoptable and will make a wonderful addition to any loving home. He’ll be staying overnight at the hospital post-surgery and will return to his foster home tomorrow.
Let’s send Joe lots of love and positive vibes for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery! If you’re interested in giving this resilient pup his forever home, reach out to us. Together, we can help Joe find the loving family he deserves.
