Hi, my name is Lauren. My foster mom let me go to Feeder’s Supply with her and everyone stopped to make over me. They said I was sweet and my coat was so shiny black. My eyes are golden, sort of like a gold raisin color. My foster mom has a soft spot in her heart for rescues that are black. She says that in addition to being smart, loving companions, that we each have a special gift. I’m growing into my gift, but she says it’s “courage.” You see, I’m just now 9 months old, but I already had an injured rear leg that had healed over. I was all alone when I was picked up from a shelter. Then GRRAND took me in and I have been seen by veterinarians and specialists and I am in good health. The femur of my right hind leg will always be a bit shorter but that doesn’t stop me. I can run like lightening and play tug all day. I know some commands like sit, lie down, and “paw.” I am a very quick learner, but I still need help learning that “no” always means “no,” and “drop” always means “drop” – as in “drop that bug (or dust cloth) from my mouth.” I am housebroken, crate-trained, and a very good sleeper overnight. I love to snuggle in my dog bed or on someone’s lap. My foster mom says she hopes I am adopted soon, because she just loves me and it will be harder and harder to let me go.
