Before You Adopt

What You Should Know About GRRAND’s Rescued Dogs

Some of the Goldens we rescue have had troubled histories.  However, the majority simply have become too much when the dog’s former owners’ busy lifestyles have not allowed time for adequate training or attention.  Prior to adoption, all of our dogs are assessed for a clean bill of health and temperament.  Each one is:

  • examined by our veterinarian;
  • brought current on all shots and vaccinations;
  • tested and if appropriate, treated for heartworm, intestinal parasites, ear infection or any other identified illness;
  • bathed;
  • spayed or neutered if not already altered;
  • microchipped; and
  • assessed for temperament

Potential adopters are provided with all information obtained during our assessments.
